MTVA Will Not Broadcast Eurovision 2023
Hungarian broadcaster MTVA will not be broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, as seen in their programming schedule.
The Hungarian public broadcaster MTVA will not be broadcasting this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Hungary has not participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2019 and did not opt to broadcast the 2021 contest either. When the country did not participate in 2010 due to financial difficulties, both semi-finals and the grand final were broadcast on Duna TV.
Hungary withdrew from the Eurovision Song Contest ahead of the 2020 contest. In November 2019 the EBU revealed the list of the participating countries in which Hungary did not appear. MTVA has not given a public statement as to why it opted to withdraw from the contest. Read More…
