National recognition for Grande Prairie photographer
Three artworks captured by a talented photographer from Grande Prairie have been recognized as some of the finest in the entire country. Silje Ask, the creative mind behind Wyldwood Photography, entered a collection of four photographs for evaluation at the recent annual conference of the Professional Photographers of Canada, held in the picturesque town of Canmore. The discerning judges carefully reviewed the submissions and selected three captivating images, each featuring delightful canines, to be showcased in the esteemed National Image Salon organized by the group.
In an email correspondence with EverythingGP, Silje expressed her journey into photography, which began in earnest in 2020 after the birth of her first daughter. The allure of this art form's scientific and creative aspects quickly captivated her. Silje's profound appreciation for the outdoors and her relentless pursuit of unexplored vistas and hidden beauty serve as constant inspiration. Despite the demands of raising two young children, she remains committed to personal growth and the continuous refinement of her technique.
The Professional Photographers of Canada, in a press release, emphasized that the submitted works undergo rigorous evaluation by a panel comprising accomplished photographers known as masters of their craft. The recognition not only signifies the remarkable abilities of the photographers but also opens up opportunities for various accolades and distinctions conferred by the Professional Photographers of Canada.
As Silje continues to excel in her photographic endeavors, it is essential to show support for her remarkable talent.
