Netflix will now send you film and TV programme recommendations via WHATSAPP - here's how to opt-out

They’re two of the biggest names in the technology sector, and now Netflix has joined forces with WhatsApp to send users recommendations within the chat app.
Users with both WhatsApp and Netflix installed on their smartphones will be given the option to link the services.
If they choose to do so, they’ll receive WhatsApp messages about their Netflix account, as well as TV programme and film suggestions.
The feature was first trialled for select users in India back in January.
However it appears that the feature has been extended, and UK users now have access.
A message within Netflix reads: “We can get in touch with you through WhatsApp.
“Get messages about your account, TV programmes and films on your registered WhatsApp number.”
Thankfully the feature is optional, and users have the option to opt out if they so choose.
To do this, simply tap 'Not Now', rather than 'I'm In' under the message within Netflix.
The feature is part of WhatsApp’s wider plans to monetise its business by charging companies to use the WhatsApp Business app to chat to customers.
In a blog , a spokesperson for WhatsApp said: "People can continue using WhatsApp as usual - there's no need to download anything new.
"And people will continue to have full control over the messages they receive, with the ability to block any number, including businesses, as well as report spam."
