Netherlands weak on open science, study finds
The Netherlands is performing worse than its neighbours when it comes to making research data and results openly available, according to a Europe-wide review of open access policies.
The study, published this month in the journal Science and Public Policy, compared the open-access performance of seven European countries—France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the UK. These countries were chosen because they had the highest h-index, indicating strong publication and citation rates. The research team from the US National Research Institute for Science Policy studied 46 policy documents dating to the end of 2020. Read More…
