A few days before the start of the school year, the union of free teachers in Senegal (salts) held meetings on September 23, 24 and 25 to take stock of the 2022 union year and identify prospects for the school year 2022/2023. Facing the press this Sunday, September 25 at FASTEF, the secretary general of the union of free teachers of Senegal (SELS), Amidou Diédhiou, affirms that they are holding these meetings as the start of the new school year approaches each year in order to evaluate the results of the year.
"Our concerns, we actually base them on the new formation of the new government... All the three ministers who were at the center of the teachers' negotiations, between the minister of national education, the civil service and finances have changed, the concern is whether these ministers have the teachers' files on their tables and know what awaits them.
