No more WhatsApp for older iPhones by October
While Apple recently announced its iPhone SE 2022 (which we compared with Google's Pixel 6A ) and an iOS version 16 should appear at WWDC 2022, WhatsApp announced the end of version support 10 and 11 of iOS from October 24.
In concrete terms, the devices concerned will be:
- iPhone 5
- iPhone 5c
- earlier models
For iPhone 5s, 6 or 6s users running iOS 12, no need to worry at this time. Note that WhatsApp already indicates in its support page that users must have iOS 12 or higher for Apple and Android 4.1 or higher for devices running the Google system.
“Bad news” for users of old devices, which should not, however, represent a majority. For users of next-generation devices, i.e. iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and SE (original), rumors speak of a possible update to iOS 16, which would allow them to use the software messaging still quite a while. Read More...
