Norway seeking fourth team title in a row at home Ski Flying World Championships

The Vikersundbakken, Norway's only ski flying hill, will stage the competition, and could well produce spectacular results.
Stefan Kraft jumped 253.5 metres, a world record, on the hill in 2017.
Kraft will lead the Austrian team at this year's World Championships, and is seeking a first title after winning team and individual bronze medals in 2016.
Karl Geiger is the defending champion and spearheads the German challenge, fresh from winning individual and team bronze medals on the large hill at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
As for Norway, six skiers - including the quartet who won the team gold in Planica in 2020 - have been selected.
Daniel-André Tande, Johann André Forfang, Robert Johansson and Halvor Egner Granerud won team gold in 2020, and are joined on the start list by Marius Lindvik and Fredrik Villumstad.
Lindvik is the new Olympic large hill champion, while Tande won the last Ski Jumping World Cup leg in Oslo on Sunday (March 6).
Norway have won three ski flying team world titles in a row.
RyÅyÅ« Kobayashi leads the Ski Jumping World Cup standings and is hoping to become the first Japanese ski flying world champion this millennium.
Action begins tomorrow with qualification, before the first two rounds of the individual competition follow the next day. Read More…
