P. LEAGUE+ & T1 LEAGUE/Jeremy Lin sets new PLG assist record with 16
No one knows the joy of sharing the basketball more in Taiwan's P.LEAGUE+ (PLG) than former NBA guard Jeremy Lin.
Less than a week after breaking the PLG's single-game assist record with 15 in the Kaohsiung 17LIVE Steelers' 99-84 victory over the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots on March 26, the Taiwanese-American hoopster set another new league high on Sunday.
In addition to scoring 25 points and snagging seven rebounds, Lin dished out 16 assists to lead the once moribund Steelers to a 97-87 win over the Formosa Taishin Dreamers.
Even Lin was stunned when learning of his new record after the game.
"Did I do that?" Lin asked in disbelief. "Honestly, I had no idea I got 16 assists."
Lin said the credit should go to Steelers head coach Tony Cheng (鄭志龍) for the work he has done improving the team week by week.
"I'm not getting these assists because I'm really that good at passing the ball. (I'm getting) these assists because our team is getting better by adding one more layer and one more layer," Lin said. Read More…
