Panhellenic Truffle Festival in Kalambaka
The inaugural Panhellenic Truffle Festival, organized by the Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum, commenced on June 8th. The primary objective of this event, scheduled to conclude on Sunday, June 11, is to acquaint participants with the enchanting realm of truffles and mushrooms in general.
To achieve this purpose, a series of informative seminars have been arranged on the fourth day of the festival. These seminars delve into topics such as truffle cultivation techniques and training dogs to detect truffles. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain fundamental knowledge about mushrooms and be enlightened about the truffles found in Greece, as well as their nutritional value.
On Friday and Saturday, guests can indulge in a delectable culinary experience courtesy of renowned chef Lefteris Lazarou. At two distinct venues—Divani and Riga Feraio Square—the esteemed chef will unveil the secrets of truffle preparation to fellow chefs and event attendees.
Simultaneously, visitors present in Meteora on Saturday will have the chance to savor an array of tantalizing truffle dishes! A team of 30 chefs from IEK DELTA 360°, under the leadership of Mr. Dotsios Adamos, the head of the Gastronomy Department, will prepare a sumptuous feast with the assistance of Aigli catering.
Throughout the festival, truffle hunters and cultivators will mingle among the crowd, ready to address any inquiries from visitors. The festivities are complemented by activities for children, as well as lively music and dance performances. Notably, the band Manitarock will grace the stage on Saturday, June 10th, at 21:30.
