The group that fuses Afro-Peruvian and Andean sounds with jazz and funk dynamics announced the release of its first album.
Perú Afro Andino, a group formed in mid-2018 by musicians Vladimir Bazán and Kike De los Ríos, announced the release of their first self-titled album with great proposals from their musical repertoire.
With the income of Erick Maldonado (bass) and Chris Aquije (percussion), the group began to work on its musical production until today. His new album is self-managed and produced by Vladimir Bazán and Kike De los Ríos, the latter also being the recording engineer.
The album aims to transmit and rescue the traditional melodies of the coast and the Peruvian Andes, mixing them with contemporary harmonies and rhythms, that is, huaynos, sayas, waltzes, landós, zamacuecas, marineras, with touches of jazz, funk, blues and rock; integrating elements such as keyboards, acoustic piano, electric bass and acoustic drums, with traditional percussion such as the cajón, and with popular percussion such as congas and timbales.
The album is made up of 8 songs: "Timotea", "Guerreros de la lluvia", "Carnaval de Cajamarca", "Baila el Vals", "Siete Colores", "Imagina", "Picante de cuy" and "Altiplano". This production is now available on digital platforms. Read More…
