Peruvian Institute of Economy: four regions would enter recession
Puno, Cusco, Apurímac and Madre de Dios would have had negative results in the fourth quarter due to protests and roadblocks.

In statements to a media outlet, Víctor Fuentes, head of the IPE , pointed out that Puno, Cusco, Apurímac and Madre de Dios have been seeing a drop in their economy for three months.
"Although a slowdown in the economy is registered on the national scene, it is very likely that we will face a recessionary scenario in the southern regional economies, basically Puno, which is practically paralyzed, as well as Cusco, with a very affected tourist activity, like Madre de Dios and Apurímac” , he explained.
Likewise, the IPE economist also pointed out that the economies of these regions, which had already registered negative figures in the fourth quarter of 2022, if they continue the "protest" measures, they will also have serious problems in the first quarter of this year.
