The Philippines has achieved a significant milestone in international tourism, surpassing last year's target and welcoming over two million visitors in the first five months of 2023.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) shared this exciting news, revealing that from January 1 to May 12, a total of 2,002,304 international tourists arrived in the country, exceeding the entire goal set for 2022, which was 1.7 million foreign visitors.

DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco expressed her optimism and stated, "We remain highly positive about our country's potential to become a leading tourism destination in Asia. Our strength lies in our rich Filipino culture, as well as our commitment to sustainability, resilience, and global competitiveness."
