Philippines President asks DOT for valuing non-operating tourism areas.
Former President of the Philippines Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. asked the Department of Tourism (DOT) for evaluating non-functioning tourism areasas part of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) in order topropel the tourism industry of the nation.
As per the Presidential Communications Office, Marcos said this during a conference with the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) Tourism Sector Group. There, they were informedregardingearlier recommendations and new suggestions to improve the segment.
The President said that he happy that the general trend, which means that they have already started and there are good recommendations as well. Nevertheless, Marcos said that the TIEZA’s problem looks like its non-operating assets.
TIEZA is a government-owned and organized corporation involvedwith the DOT and is accountable for applyingrules and programs of the DOT relating to the growth, advancement, and management of tourism missions in the Philippines. READ MORE…
