Police Detain 43 Illegal Migrants Near Sofia

The Interior Ministry has reported that law enforcement officers have apprehended 43 individuals of foreign nationality who were found without proper documents while traveling in a van near Sofia in the early hours of Sunday. These men, who were discovered in the cargo compartment, claimed to be Afghan citizens.
Out of the group, six migrants required medical attention and were subsequently transported to a hospital.
The driver and their companion, both Bulgarian citizens previously known to the authorities, have been detained under police warrants for a period of up to 24 hours. The investigation into this incident is currently underway.
