Propelme launches 'everything app' in the Philippines
IN the age of social media and virtual business management, finding the best workforce has already gone beyond the traditional forms of recruitment.
In the Philippine manning sector, job hunts and recruitment will soon be made easy with the launching of PropelMe, a maritime social network that serves as a one-stop shop for maritime professionals, both at sea and at shore, for career tracking, progression, job hunting, training and social networking.
During its soft launching on February 9 at the Manila Hotel, Chris Mcmenemy, a naval architect and co-founder and chief executive officer of Propelme, presented the revolutionized recruitment, data storage, sharing and communications features of the application.
"The seafarer application is on a mission to revolutionize the seafarer's lives at sea," he said.
PropelMe provides seafarers with a pioneering range of career management tools, social networking, shipping geek-enthused features and unrestricted access to apply for jobs around the world.
The app introduces features such as Seafarer Job Finder, Auto-Matched Jobs based on qualifications, perks and discounts, certificate management, maritime news updates, and a communication hub.
"PropelMe allows seafarers to be treated like any other professional with the freedom to maximize the potential of the career including providing value add for their family, access to the same level of perks and benefits that other professionals have, and finally, but perhaps most importantly, allowing them to be in control. In short, we are on a mission to revolutionize the lives of seafarers and their families around the world!" Stuart McKenna, a naval architect and co-founder and chief operations officer of Propleme, explained.
The app's preview release in the Philippines is also in honor of the Filipino seafarers who are manning over a quarter of the world's ships.
PropelMe will soon power the recruitment strategies of major manning agencies in the Philippines such as Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Western Shipping, Wilhelmsen Smith Bell, Senator Crewing Manila and Mercy Ships, among others. Read More…
