Raluca Turcan: "We need a new wage law. Some work until seven, while others sleep in fasting"
Raluca Turcan stated on Monday, in a post on Facebook, that in the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR) a milestone was introduced regarding the salary reform in the budget system, emphasizing that while some employees work, others do not submit any effort but collect the same salary.
"I followed with interest the references from Romania related to May 1st. Unfortunately, most of the discussions were centered on the 'mini-holiday of May 1st', smalls and beer. Nothing about the rights of those who work! We have introduced an extremely important milestone in the PNRR which, if not respected, will lead to the worsening of the situation related to wages, equity, welfare through work. It is about the salary reform. We need a new salary law based on correct criteria, equity and meritocracy. Personally, I wish to see no more teachers earning less than unqualified people! She mentioned that, in order to encourage the performance, progress and evolution of each person, everyone's work must be valued at its fair value and added rhetorically "what desire will a young person have to study for 5 years to become a teacher or an engineer, if the salaries of other fields that do not require so many studies and sacrifices, are they greater?".
