Different Departments In The Merchant Navy

 

Deck Department

The Deck Department is responsible for the navigation, cargo handling, and maintenance of the ship's exterior. The department includes the Captain, Chief Officer, Second Officer, Third Officer, and Cadet. The Captain is the highest-ranking officer onboard the ship and is responsible for the overall operation of the vessel. The Chief Officer is second in command and assists the Captain in the day-to-day operations of the ship. The Second Officer is responsible for navigation and communication, while the Third Officer is responsible for maintaining the ship's safety equipment. The Cadet is a trainee officer who is undergoing training to become a Navigation Officer.

 

Engineering Department

The Engineering Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the ship's machinery and equipment. The department includes the Chief Engineer, Second Engineer, Third Engineer, Fourth Engineer, Electrical Officer, and Cadet. The Chief Engineer is the highest-ranking officer in the Engineering Department and is responsible for the overall operation of the ship's machinery. The Second Engineer is second in command and assists the Chief Engineer in the day-to-day operations of the ship's machinery. The Third Engineer and Fourth Engineer are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the ship's machinery and equipment.
