Herring Day at the Museum of the World Ocean
On Saturday, April 8, the embankment of the historical fleet of the Museum of the World Ocean invites Kaliningraders and guests of the region to the annual Herring Day. The central theme of the holiday will be anniversaries - the 75th anniversary of the first Kaliningrad herring expeditions, the 105th anniversary of the beloved salad "Herring under a fur coat" and the 100th anniversary of the first expedition of the research vessel "Persey".
This year, Herring Day is recognized as one of the best events of the year in the country. The national calendar EventsInRussia.com included the museum festival in the TOP 50 events of 2023. More than 1,000 applications from 70 regions of Russia were submitted for the competition.
“Also, the traditional museum holiday in 2023 was the occasion to hold the All-Russian Week of Herring. <...> From April 3 to April 9, Russians can participate in promotions for herring in retail chains, an information campaign with recipes, and take advantage of useful tips on choosing fish products, ”the press service of the Museum of the World Ocean said.
Here they promise that all the objects of the museum will be open on this day, and honored workers of the fish industry can visit them for free. The Old Port fish market, a souvenir fair will operate on the embankment all day long, competitions and quizzes will be held at the sites.
