New funding: Portland, Ore.-based Reclaim.ai raised an additional $3.2 million. The 16-person company launched in 2019 and has raised $9.5 million to date.
The business: Reclaim helps teams identify and prioritize essential tasks, account for their time, and coordinate schedules. The platform has 70,000 active monthly users — a number that quadrupled over the past year. It is used by more than 14,000 companies.
The competition: Calendly, Clockwise, Motion, Fellow and Jifflenow, among others.
The founders: Co-founder and CEO Patrick Lightbody has created and sold two companies in the software testing space, and was one of the original contributors to Selenium, a framework for testing web apps. Co-founder Henry Shapiro was a founding product manager at multiple startups in the Portland area. The two previously worked together at New Relic.
The investors: Yummy Ventures, Character, Flying Fish, Operator Partners, Grafana Labs CEO Raj Dutt, and others.
The research: Reclaim recently conducted two surveys of more than 700 users of its platform to better understand time management and burnout challenges.
One survey found that almost one-third of meetings are rescheduled or canceled, and 60% of employees struggle to provide greater scheduling availability for higher priority meetings.
When it came to issues contributing to job burnout, 63% of respondents said that a “lack of time for focused work” was a key issue and 48% said having too many meetings was a contributing factor. Read More…
