RMG workers protest closure of 3 factories in Savar

Workers of three garment factories of Dynasty Group have been staging a sit-in in savar, protesting the closure of the factories and demanding their arrears.
More than 1,500 workers of Dynasty Group's Dynasty Sweater Limited, Dynasty Knit Fashion Limited and Millennium Sweater Limited located in Aukpara area of Savar, of the outskirts of Dhaka, started the sit-in around 8am today (October 13, 2022).
The workers said that they observed a two-day strike on Tuesday and Wednesday (October 11 and 12) after they came to know that the ownership of the factories have been changed.
Today, the authorities announced the closure of the three factories for an indefinite period and hang a notice on the main gate in this regard.
Ratan Hossain Motaleb, organising secretary of Savar Ashulia Dhamrai regional committee of the Textile Garment Workers Federation, told The Daily Star that the owner has sold the factories. Read More...
