Romanian feature films awarded at Cannes and San Sebastià¡n, in the ANONIMUL 2022 program
Romanian feature films that have been featured in important film festivals, such as Cannes and San Sebastián, are included in the program of the 19th edition of the ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival, out of competition, according to a press release .
ANONIMUL will take place this year between August 8 and 14, in Sfântu Gheorghe (Danube Delta). The festival program includes two short film competitions, Romanian and international, announced in June, a feature film competition, but also screenings outside the competition. All screenings will be accompanied by meetings and dialogues between the filmmakers and the audience.
The Romanian feature films presented outside the competition are "Marocco", directed by Emanuel Pârvu, "Metronom", by Alexandru Belc, "Balaur", by Octavian Chelaru, "Pentru mine tu esti CeauÈ™escu", by Sebastian Mihăilescu, "Miracol", by Bogdan George Apetri, "Străjerii Deltai", by Liviu Marghidan, "Crai Nou", by Alina Grigore, "Imaculat", by Monica Stan and George Chiper-Lillemark and "Sometimes it snows with snow, sometimes with darkness" by Gabriel de Achim.
"Marocco", the second feature film directed by Emanuel Pârvu, with Åžerban Pavlu, Crina Semciuc, Ana Indricău and Tudor Cucu-Dumitrescu in the cast, had its world premiere in the New Directors competition of the San Sebastián Film Festival 2021.
The production, which was selected in competition at TIFF this year, follows the destinies of two lovers who end up in life and death situations as a result of mistrust. It is a universal story about the moral responsibility of actions that have fatal consequences.
The action in "Metronome", Alexandru Belc's debut feature film, awarded this year in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival with the prize for directing, takes place in the early 70s, when two high school students in love write letters for the show "Metronome ” from Radio Europa Libera.
When his family is given permission to leave the country for good, they know they must separate, and their last days together become decisive for their entire lives. The cast includes Mara Bugarin, Şerban Lazarovici, Vlad Ivanov, Mihai Călin and Andreea Bibiri.
"Balaur", written and directed by Octav Chelaru, with Mălina Manovici and Alexandru Papadopol in the main roles, is inspired by real events. Read More…
