Since Samsung’s S, Note, and Fold series flagships have been quite pricey for the past several generations, a category of flagship killers has emerged in the high-end market. Samsung released the Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) last week in an effort to regain lost ground. It is designed to bring Samsung’s flagship features and experience to a slightly lower price point.
When it comes to packaging contents, Samsung hasn’t been particularly kind. Be prepared to spend more because the Galaxy S20 FE does not come with a protective cover. The S20 FE from Samsung has an adaptive Super AMOLED display. Using a 120Hz Samsung display on an FHD+ screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1800 is a pleasure.
It is not only smooth but also incredibly responsive, with a 240Hz touch responsiveness. The contrast is superb, and the colors are vivid. The visuals are clear, vibrant, and sharp. A wide DCI-P3 color gamut is supported, and Samsung also adds a color-accurate “Natural” color preset. It also supports HDR essential.
Overall, the Galaxy S20 FE’s color fidelity, screen brightness, and responsiveness are impressive. With the display set to 120Hz, Samsung’s Galaxy FE has so far managed to get one mile (and not more) out of its 4,500 mAh battery, which is less bad than the 7000mAh of the Galaxy M51. You should be able to manage longer than a day if you are a light or moderate user or if the display is set to 60Hz.
