Santa Cruz Book Fair attracts readers in Bolivia
Reading lovers find today an attraction in the 23rd edition of the Bolivian International Book Fair of Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Filsc), with venue until June 12 in Fexpocruz.
“We will enjoy presentations of new books, talks, the children’s pavilion, educational workshops for our teachers and visits by local, national and international writers,” said Ruth Hohestein, president of the Chamber of Books in this department.
Hohestein confirmed the organization of four international meetings: poetry, microfiction, historical narrative and children’s and young people’s literature, as well as the presentation of about 80 volumes.
The literary promoter thanked the support of the Autonomous Municipal Government of Santa Cruz, the Fexpocruz fairgrounds and the Livestock Bank.
For his part, the mayor of Porongo, guest municipality, Neptaly Mendoza, stressed that the representation of this territory brings to the Fair a sample of the cultural and tourist potential of this area of Bolivia.
The Filsc is considered the most important literary event in the country, for which it was declared Cultural Heritage of the city.
