Exhibitors from Serbia, the Balkans and elsewhere came together at Agro Belgrade to make contacts, do business and discuss the latest issues
The fourth annual Agro Belgrade 2023 International Fair of Fruit, Vegetables and Wine took place at the end of January, welcoming an estimated 28,000 visitors, and bringing together over 500 exhibitors from 14 countries from all parts of the supply chain.
Agro Belgrade 2023 was formally opened by Jelena Tanasković, Serbian minister of agriculture, forestry and water management, with other keynote speakers including Belgrade mayor Aleksandar Šapić, US ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill, Dutch ambassador to Serbia Joost Reintjes, Republika Srpska minister of agriculture, forestry and water management Savo Minić, North Macedonia minister of agriculture, forestry and water management Ljupco Nikolovski, and Montenegro minister of agriculture, forestry and water management Vladimir Joković.
In addition to the exhibition, the event featured ten conference sessions (available to view on the Agro Belgrade YouTube channel) on key topics such as current market trends, climate adaptation, labour force development, digitalisation in agriculture, access to finance, and transport and logistics.
A B2B area was also available for fruit and vegetable producers and processors, with 275 meetings being held with leading Serbian and regional buyers and distributors.
“This year’s three-day show and conference brought together more than 500 exhibitors from Serbia, the Balkans, and worldwide, including producers of fresh, frozen, and processed fruit and vegetables, agricultural machinery, anti-hail protection systems, irrigation systems and equipment, plant nurseries, seed and chemicals producers, and other companies operating in the sector,” the organisers stated. “Agro Belgrade 2023 was also a venue where local governments could showcase their opportunities in the fruit and vegetable industry.” Read More…
