Rodando Páginas. Del libro a las pantallas (lit. “Shooting Pages. From Book to Screens”) was founded in 2018 in order to promote the creation of audiovisual and film works through the adaptation of literature. It is an annual meeting point that fosters synergies between the publishing and audiovisual industries, the promotion of new stories, and their adaptation to an audiovisual language and different kinds of screens. This therefore makes it an unmissable rendezvous for authors, editors and literary agents in search of new ways to exploit their works, facilitating meetings with audiovisual producers, television channels and platforms with a high demand for content.
The fifth edition of the gathering will unspool on 6 and 7 June at the Eugenio Trías Library, within the confines of the Retiro Park, and it coincides with the Madrid Book Fair, which takes place there on the same dates. In-person and online accreditations granting access to the pitching sessions for the 16 works that have been selected can be obtained via the website.
In addition, and also by visiting the website, you can register to take part in the workshop entitled “Presenting Literary Works to the Audiovisual Sector”, led by expert Álvaro Vega, as well as find information on the round-table “Successful Adaptations for a Global Spanish-language Market”. The latter will see the participation of a raft of pre-eminent professionals from the audiovisual and publishing sectors, providing a platform to all of the people involved in the process of adapting a book for the screen (literary creation, rights management, production, distribution and exhibition), with the aim being to dig deeper into this growing phenomenon and the latest developments in the field. Entry is free of charge, and anyone interested can attend until capacity has been reached. It can also be live-streamed via the website.
A total of 108 novels were submitted for this fifth call, and 12 Spanish ones were ultimately selected to take part.
