Slovakia to Apply Simplified Residence Procedures for Foreigners From January 2023
The Slovak government has approved a proposal which aims to reduce and simplify the residence procedures that foreigners have to follow in Slovakia.
The proposal on simplifying rules for foreigners was prepared by the Slovak Ministry of Interior and was approved on August 24, 2022, and it is expected to enter into force on January 1, 2023, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
“The intention is to streamline procedures and more clearly define some procedural procedures of the border and foreign police, especially in the area of the return of foreigners from third countries from Slovakia, which the Schengen evaluators obliged us to do,” the Minister of Interior, Roman Mikulec, said, commenting on the approved proposal.
According to the Ministry, the authorities have also established that all nationals of third countries who apply for temporary residence will be able to stay in the territory of Slovakia until a decision is taken.
