Super Mario Bros is an adaptation of the classic Nintendo video game, which raised more than 377 million dollars in its theatrical debut worldwide, according to data provided by the distributor Universal Pictures.
This figure is considered the best world premiere of the year, a record held until now by Ant-Man and the wasp: Quantumania (225 million) and the best historical animation premiere, above Frozen 2 (358 million), although these comparisons are relative, since the Mario Bros. film advanced its premiere two days, to Wednesday, instead of the traditional Friday.
