TAAG Angola Airlines Boosts Flight Frequencies To Sao Paulo
TAAG Angola Airlines intends to enhance its flight schedule connecting Angola and Brazil starting from Wednesday, August 2nd. The airline aims to provide improved connectivity and increased mobility between these two countries that share the Portuguese language and culture.
To meet the growing market demand, the carrier plans to expand its flight frequency on the Luanda-Sao Paulo-Luanda route, increasing it to six weekly flights. This decision follows TAAG's recent codeshare agreement with GOL Airlines, a prominent Brazilian carrier.
The geographical distance between Angola and Brazil is substantial, spanning approximately 4,000 miles (6,500 kilometers) across the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. Currently, TAAG Angola Airlines is the sole airline operating flights on this transatlantic route.
The duration of the flight, which employs the Boeing 777 aircraft, is approximately 8 hours. The additional flight frequency will be introduced on Wednesdays, departing from Luanda after the regular night flight. Passengers can already purchase tickets, with special offers available for those who book directly through the airline's official website.

The LAD-GRU route boasts a load factor of 73%, surpassing the industry average by 3%. This profitable and crucial connection plays a significant role in fostering trade and tourism between Angola and Brazil, particularly during holiday periods.
São Paulo stands as a key international destination served by TAAG, connecting Angolans to various global locations. In their recent announcement, the airline revealed plans to introduce direct flights between Luanda and Porto during the Christmas and New Year period. From December 2023 to January 2024, they will provide 14 services connecting Angola and Portugal.
The demand for air travel between Africa and South America continues to rise, catering to both business and leisure travelers. The São Paulo-Luanda flight represents more than a mere point-to-point link, as both cities serve as crucial connection hubs between South America, Africa, and Europe.

Passengers departing from Brazil have the opportunity to book onward connections to numerous destinations within TAAG's domestic and international network. The airline is committed to enhancing customer service by offering improved connectivity options for travelers.
Despite the significant number of Brazilian outbound travelers each year, only a limited number of African airlines cater to the demand for flights from Latin America to Africa. However, there are plans for South African Airways to potentially launch flights between Johannesburg and São Paulo later this year.
Furthermore, TAAG operates flights to over 23 destinations in 10 countries, including Amsterdam Schiphol, Frankfurt Airport, Johannesburg OR Tambo, and Lagos Murtala Muhammed. The airline has garnered international recognition for its strong and consistent financial performance.
Passengers bound for Angola can seamlessly continue their journey to any of these destinations and more. TAAG's fleet comprises 22 aircraft, including four Boeing 777-300s, three 737-700s, and five DHC-8-Q400s. In addition to passenger transportation, the airline's fleet possesses essential cargo capacity.

São Paulo Guarulhos stands as South America's busiest airport, recording over 16,500 aircraft movements in March 2023 alone. Last year, GRU welcomed 34.4 million passengers on 243,888 flights.
As a hub for GOL and LATAM, São Paulo Guarulhos serves as the departure point for numerous major carriers offering flights from the airport. Passengers flying from Luanda have the option to connect to various destinations within South America, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru.
