TCAA eyes to develop sub section of cyber security policy

Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) ponders developing sub section of cyber security policy for safeguarding data and information from possibility of falling into hackers as the country gears to seamless African navigation airspace.
This was unveiled in Dar es Salaam over the weekend during the closing of the three day African regional meeting of the International Federation of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Associations (IFATSEA).
“One of the resolutions in this meeting is to further discuss on why African air space can have a seamless air navigation system.
This includes using online platforms in sharing data and critical information on air navigation where the move requires concrete data protection methods and policy,” said Francis Chale a senior Air Navigation Systems Engineer at TCAA.
He said that one of the advantages of having seamless continental air navigation includes sharing knowledge and technology and therefore promoting safety in air space navigation in the continent.
However, he said there is a need to first need to have a clear sub policy of protecting data to be shared in the due course
“Having a seamless air navigation services at continental level is vital for skills and technology sharing, hence the main reason for TCAA to opt liaison with the government on how best we can formulate sub policy to assure security,” Read More…
