Techi Cabrera emerges after her suicide attempt, declaring, "I have made a full recovery."
ABC had an exclusive interview with Kiko Rivera's former girlfriend, who had been absent from the public eye for six months. Her last appearance was to announce her diagnosis of "bipolar disorder."
The last time Techi Cabrera graced the small screen was in November, when she shared her deeply personal struggle with the world. "I have withdrawn from the realm of television due to my diagnosis of a mental illness: bipolar disorder." The ex-girlfriend of Kiko Rivera revealed that she had experienced severe depression after her participation in 'Big Brother VIP,' stating, "I have sought treatment at numerous clinics and undergone extensive therapy." Furthermore, she disclosed that she had been assigned a 65% disability rating.
Recognizing her public platform and the potential to inspire others facing similar challenges, she candidly expressed, "I have been enduring a difficult period for the past four years," revealing that she had been hearing voices. Techi also shared that although she had battled depression since the age of 15, it was at that particular moment when she finally received a proper diagnosis.
Throughout this arduous journey, her family has been her sole support. "They are the only ones I can rely on. In good times, everyone is present, but in bad times, there is no one," she disclosed during an appearance on 'Save me.' She also confessed to having no contact with Isabel Pantoja's son or Alberto Isla, from whom she had separated merely three weeks after their wedding.
In late January, Cabrera once again captured headlines when news broke of her suicide attempt. Amor Romeira, a friend of Techi, shared in 'Fiesta' that discussing her illness had been beneficial for her. However, she experienced a relapse that ultimately led to her hospitalization. "Thankfully," Kiko Rivera's former partner has since made a full recovery and is now in stable condition. Subsequently, there had been no updates on the young woman, who refrained from discussing the incident on social media or in the media.
Now, after several months dedicated to her complete rehabilitation, Techi has decided to break her silence and shed light on that painful episode. "I have completely recovered. I feel great, surrounded by my family and my son," she confidently stated in an interview with ABC. Her daily life has drastically changed from what it once was. "To be honest, I rarely go out. I lead a rather tranquil life." Consequently, she has no immediate plans to return to television. "For now, it's not on my agenda. If a project arises that appeals to me and I feel ready, then I may consider it."
Regarding her love life, she mentioned, "I am single and open to love." However, she emphasized that her primary focus is on her overall well-being, stating, "The most important thing is that everything is going well."
