Textbooks, notebooks and accessories increased in price by up to 50 percent
Textbooks, notebooks and accessories for primary school students have risen in price even by 50 percent, so for one set of textbooks this year it is necessary to allocate 18,000 dinars.
The director of "Kneginja Milica" Elementary School and the asset manager of the director of elementary schools in New Belgrade, Darko Eger, says that the new textbook prices were imposed by market conditions.
"We are witnessing an increase in prices on the market of various products, including energy products and textbooks. Notebooks and all accompanying materials have become more expensive, prices were lower in previous years", said Eger and stated that, with good cooperation between parents and the school, it is possible to purchase textbooks in installments, and how many installments there will be depends on the contract signed, which is defined by the decision of the Council of Parents.
When asked which publishers textbooks are purchased from, Eger states that there used to be one publisher, but today there are many of them, after our country accepted certain market conditions for business by opening a cluster for joining the EU. Read More…
