At a height of 12 meters on the side of the Kharga-Dakhla Road in the New Valley Governorate, with a depth of 1000 meters from the road, a giant rock appears in the form of a majestic crouching camel near the farms and fields of the people, which was formed by nature millions of years ago.
The giant rock became an important shrine for safari and camping enthusiasts and photography professionals.

The New Valley Tourism Authority decided to include the site of the rock among the tourist attractions in the governorate, and it was placed on the tourist map in the governorate as an authentic symbol of the oases’ landmarks and in addition to the sedimentary rocks scattered in the White Desert area in Farafra.
The rocks in the New Valley take shapes in the form of animals, birds, and trees, due to the factors of erosion, sculpture, and sedimentation that that desert went through during the ancient historical eras, and after the drought that afflicted the region millions of years ago after the sea retreated, those rocks remained exposed to factors of erosion and wind sculpture.
