The Government will extend the economic response plan to the war for three months

The decree law that was validated by Congress contains measures such as the discount of 20 cents on fuel , an extension of the coverage and the discount of the electric social bond or the minimum vital income or the extension of the tax reductions applied to the electricity bill. , but its temporary validity expires on June 30.
We review the most important measures included in Royal Decree-Law 6/2022, of March 29 to help families, workers and displaced persons, which was published on March 30 and will be extended for another three months after June 30 :
- A discount with a minimum of 20 cents per liter of fuel for all citizens, not just for carriers. Specifically, the Government applies a discount of 15 cents and the oil companies a minimum of 5 cents, although some companies have applied higher discounts. In the event that the operator does not assume part of it, the State will take care of the discount of 20 cents as before.
- The limitation of the revisions of the increases in the prices of housing rental contracts to 2% in the next three months. In the case of private owners, they may renegotiate the rent with their tenants. In case of not reaching an agreement, that 2% cap will be applied.
- The 15% increase in the amount of the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) to reach more vulnerable families. Specifically, it applies to current beneficiaries, and also to applications for this benefit that have been submitted on the date of entry into force of this royal decree-law, but have not been resolved, as well as those that are submitted subsequently, provided that the effects of its recognition are not later than June 1, 2022.
- It is extended to 600,000 families plus the electricity social bonus, with the aim of reaching 1.9 million households . As stated at the time of its publication in the BOE, the application process for the social bonus was facilitated and streamlined for all vulnerable consumers. "Specifically, the concept of family unit is replaced by that of coexistence unit, in line with the normative evolution experienced in social protection legislation and the recipients of the minimum vital income are incorporated, who will be able to avail themselves of the electric social bonus in an much simpler", established the text.
- Discounts on the electricity bill for vulnerable and severely vulnerable consumers are extended, with discounts of 60% and 70%, respectively,
