The Ultimate Guide to Getting Fired on Your First Interview

Congratulations on scoring an interview! Now, you might think the goal is to impress your potential employer and secure the job. But forget all that! This guide will help you achieve the remarkable feat of getting fired during your very first interview. So, buckle up and get ready to sabotage your chances like a pro.

1. Dress to Distress

Remember, first impressions are crucial. Arrive at the interview wearing your most outrageous attire. Neon colors, mismatched socks, and a funny hat will certainly make you stand out. Oh, and don't forget to wear your favorite band's t-shirt!

2. Show Up Late

Punctuality is for amateurs. Arrive at least 30 minutes late, preferably with a cup of coffee in hand. Bonus points if you spill it on the receptionist's desk or your potential employer's shoes.

3. Overconfidence is Key

Confidence is overrated, so be sure to exude an air of superiority. Interrupt the interviewer frequently, correct their statements even if they're right, and remind them constantly how much better you are than anyone else they've ever interviewed.

4. Badmouth Previous Employers

To really make an impression, criticize your former employers, colleagues, and even customers. Nothing says "I'm a team player" like throwing everyone under the bus. Bonus points for using colorful language and exaggerated stories.

5. Make Absurd Claims

Who needs honesty? Make sure to embellish your resume with outrageous achievements. Claim you invented time travel, won the Nobel Prize for Origami, or became the first human to swim to the moon. Remember, it's not about credibility, it's about leaving them in awe.

6. Ramble Incessantly

Instead of answering the interviewer's questions directly, go off on tangents about your favorite conspiracy theories, childhood traumas, or the latest episode of your favorite TV show. The longer you talk, the more they'll appreciate your ability to waste time.

7. Use Your Phone Constantly

Why pay attention when you can be on your phone? Text, browse social media, or take a few selfies during the interview. Show them just how important you are in the digital world.

8. Question Their Intelligence

Nothing showcases your critical thinking skills quite like questioning the intelligence of your potential employer. Challenge their methods, question their decision-making, and offer unsolicited advice. They'll surely appreciate your audacity.

9. Forget Basic Etiquette

Manners are for the weak. Chew gum loudly, yawn without covering your mouth, and pick your nose when they're not looking. Show them that professionalism is overrated.

10. Exit with a Bang

As you leave the interview, make a grand exit by knocking over a potted plant or setting off the fire alarm. Leave them with a lasting memory of your time together.
