There is a delay in the construction of the Chinchero airport
A recent report from the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) warns of delays in the construction of the Passenger Terminal of the Chinchero Airport, in Cusco, which, according to the agency, represents a risk of the delivery of the work "in the term foreseen in the Contract for the Execution of Main Works”, set in July 2025.
According to the CGR, the delay is due to the fact that the Favorable Report for the Construction of the Passenger Terminal in the South Dock has not been approved, which prevents the start of the respective works, which should have started on May 27 last.
On the other hand, on June 30, the Supervisory Consortium returned the design in question to the Contractor Consortium, rejecting and disapproving its delivery due to breaches related to Building Information Modeling (BIM). It should be noted that the use of BIM "is an essential requirement of the contract and mandatory for all parties."
The control body pointed out that the delay in the project can generate cost overruns in case there are changes in the schedule. Read More…
