For most people, the camera is a must on any trip. Here you can find out where you can find great places in Switzerland for your next snapshot.
1. Matterhorn, Zermatt VS
Probably the most famous mountain in Switzerland should not be missing from the list of the most beautiful photo spots. There are a number of places around the Matterhorn from which you can stage it perfectly.
However, if you don't want to hike for a photo, the popular photo spot at the Kirchbrücke in the middle of Zermatt is ideal. The Matterhorn shows its most beautiful side from the bridge.
2. Tschentenalp, Adelboden BE
Who wouldn't want to enjoy the fascinating view of the Alps from a swing? This is exactly what you can do on the Tschentenalp in Adelboden.
In just two to three minutes on foot from the Tschentenalp mountain station you can reach the so-called Giant Swing. The swing is available to visitors both in summer and in winter.
3. Oeschinensee, Kandersteg BE
Especially during the first lockdown last year, this mountain lake became one of the most popular photo opportunities in Switzerland. No wonder: Surrounded by a beautiful mountain landscape, the lake shines in a luminous shade of blue that is guaranteed to stand out in every photo.
From Kandersteg you can reach the lake with the gondola lift. Then there is a 30-minute walk from the mountain station to the lake. Another body of water in the area that attracts many visitors with its color is the Blausee.
4. Berggasthaus Aescher, Schwende AI
The traditional inn Aescher is one of the oldest mountain inns in Switzerland. The current building was built in 1860 in one of the Wildkirchli caves. The stairs leading to the inn are wonderful for photographing the impressive Alpine landscape and what is – according to “National Geographic” – the most beautiful place in the world.
From the mountain station of the Ebenalp cable car you can reach the inn in 15 minutes on foot. If you are not afraid of a steep hike, you can combine the excursion with a visit to the Seealpsee, which is also a popular photo motif.
5. Rhine Falls, Neuhausen am Rheinfall SH
There are numerous photo spots around the largest waterfall in Europe to photograph the natural spectacle. Be it on the platforms built over the Rhine, up close from the ship or from the surrounding castles of Laufen and Wörth - here you are guaranteed to be in the limelight for a successful photo.
