They will present books on the struggle of domestic workers in Paraguay
Sunday, September 11, 4 books on domestic work in Paraguay will be launched, at the Cultural Center "The hole of Visoka" located on Caballero and Comuneros streets, in Punta Karapâ of the Ricardo Brugada neighborhood of Asunción, starting at 11: 00. The event has the support of Diakonia and the South Women's Fund.
It is about the works ”Workers! A history of fighters for equality”, a book of photographs by Luis Vera, as well as “SINTRADESPY. A path of daily activism, growth and conquests”, by Fátima Rodríguez and “SINTRADOP-L, Pioneer women in the unionization of domestic workers in Paraguay” by Dora Gómez.
It also adds the work "Bringing shine to their own voices", systematization of the experiences of the radio programs "Doméstica Ñe'ẽ", from Asunción, and "La Hormiguera", from Encarnación, prepared by Delia Ramírez and Dora Gómez.
It is worth remembering that the book “Workers! A history of fighters for equality” was presented on June 20 at the prestigious La Soborna University in Paris (France), as part of the “History and Photography in Motion” meeting, which was attended by Luis Vera, photographer and author of the work.
They clarify that the publications were made jointly and with the participation of the representatives of the three unions of domestic workers to which the Center for Documentation and Studies (CDE), a member of the Marcosur Feminist Articulation (AFM) strongly accompanied in the fight for their rights in the last ten years.
