This Monday they resume the criminal trial on the death of Juan Carlos Adrianza el "Fabu Fabu"
On Monday, the long-awaited criminal trial surrounding the death of Juan Carlos Adrianza, also known as "El Fabu Fabu," will resume. Eight years after the tragic incident on the Calabozo national highway via Two ways, the authorities of the Calabozo Extension Criminal Judicial Circuit in Guárico state have decided to take action and determine those responsible for the actor and producer's untimely demise.
The case, identified as JP11-P-2011-003200, was reactivated by a general instruction from the Republic Magistracy to expedite all cases that were previously "shelfed" or ordered to cease. All parties involved in the trial have been summoned to appear before the First Trial Court of the Criminal Judicial Circuit of Calabozo.
The trial's resumption comes after the family's lawyers initiated a challenge process against Judge Venturi and the Secretary of the same Court, María Alejandra Azuaje, for their alleged links to the owners and driver of the vehicle involved in the events. The family also appealed to the appeals court to have the acquittal annulled, which was granted in May 2015, where the prosecution's accusation and the crime of eventual intent were dismissed, and the file was closed, reclassifying the crime as Wrongful Homicide. The driver of the truck, Yony Alejandro Graterol González, was given freedom with a presentation regime.
Journalist Jorge Berrueta Rengifo, brother of the producer who died in the vehicle accident, explained that the trial was flawed from the start because the accidental judge Azuaje ruled that the fault lay with Juan Carlos Dávila González, the driver of the vehicle in which the deceased were traveling. It is unclear whether Dávila González will be summoned by the court, as he currently resides in the Dominican Republic and previously lived in Panama a few years after the accident occurred.
The family of the deceased continues to fight for justice, and their lawyers are already in the state of Guárico, preparing for the opening of the oral and public hearing on Monday. The trial will aim to determine the culprits of this act charged with intentional homicide by way of eventual intent, accused by prosecutor 48 of the Public Ministry at the national level with full jurisdiction, lawyer Víctor Hugo Barreto Tacoronte, in accordance with the provisions and sanctions of article 405 of the current Penal Code.
