Three Critically Injured After Gunfire Erupts on Montreal's West Island
Three individuals are in critical condition following a shooting incident involving 30 to 40 shots fired on Montreal’s West Island late Sunday night.
Sources from CTV Montreal report that police were called to the scene at the intersection of Salaberry Boulevard and Rue Davignon in Dollard-des-Ormeaux after receiving reports of a person armed with a firearm. Upon arrival, officers encountered a conflict which led to an exchange of gunfire between at least one suspect and the police.
The Montreal Police Department (SPVM) has established a large perimeter around the area. The investigation into the incident will be managed by Quebec's Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI), the province’s police oversight body.
