Obviously, we are well beyond the point of denying the significance of social media in our lives. Be it large-scale businesses, entrepreneurs, or solopreneurs, social media can have a major impact on how businesses carry out their marketing strategies and how your business is perceived by your stakeholders. Social media gives an opportunity to build a tone and voice for your brand and increase your brand’s authenticity.  

Social media can also be an amazing platform for you to build relationships with your audience. You can engage with your audience in the form of posts, stories, conducting polls, going live, and much more. Venturing into social media can also help you provide your customers with better customer service and might we add, it is super affordable.

While peer pressure is a genuine reason, you might need a clearer purpose and a more valid reason to build your brand on social media. Your purpose can look anything like aiming to offer better customer service, building brand loyalty, increasing your brand’s visibility, etc. Having short-term and long-term goals in place can help you create relevant strategies and move forward towards your goals rather than going in circles without actual purpose in place.  

Who is your audience?  

Before you jump into creating a social media strategy, you need to know who your audience is. You can determine who your target audience is by analyzing who your customers are and what they would be engaging with. Another thing that you can do to define your audience is to keep track of your competitors and who they are targeting on social media. Several demographics like age, location, and interests need to be taken into consideration when you are determining your target audience.
