Tons of Glamour, A Murder and Much Mystery: The ‘Chakkar' Trailer Spins Its Web of Intrigue
What could make a more compelling screenplay than a story about all the twisted machinations in the world of arc lights and painted faces? Perhaps, a movie plot involving a murder amidst all the backstabbing, intrigue, and gossip that is part and parcel of the film industry – and one which is bold enough to not shy from diving into the glamor world’s seamier side. That, and a lot more, is what the trailer of director Yasir Nawaz’s upcoming murder mystery ‘Chakkar’ hints at.
The movie features Neelam Muneer, last seen in the 2019 hit ‘Wrong No 2’ in a double role of twin sisters, one of whom happens to be a movie star. That will certainly add to the chakkar of the film’s plot, which on the face of it, revolves around the murder of the movie-star sister. A detective (Yasir Nawaz) is hot on the heels of the alleged killer, and as should be the case for a true mystery, nothing is quite as simple as it seems. However, this is far from a dry thriller. In fact, quite the opposite. We spotted all the ingredients of a masala potboiler – comedy, a performance number, romance, and action in the preview, and from the looks of it, the producers (Yasir Nawaz and wife Nida Yasir) have left no stone unturned to give the film a polished, ritzy sheen.
Also featured prominently is star Ahsan Khan, who shares a romantic angle with Neelam Muneer, and who is presented as one of the key suspects in the murder. At one point in the trailer, it seems the walls of justice are closing on him as he is framed for the movie diva’s murder. However, we are sure there is a lot more to the film’s plot than the details spilled by the trailer, for which we will have to wait till Eid-ul-Fitr to find out, as that is when ‘Chakkar’ will hit theaters.
