Trace Cyrus Says Billy Ray Made Legal Threat After He Claimed Dad Needs Help
Trace Cyrus is standing firm in his concerns about his father, Billy Ray Cyrus, despite reportedly facing a legal threat from the country music star. In an Instagram Story posted on Saturday, the 35-year-old musician expressed that he has not heard from his father since he publicly voiced his worries about Billy Ray's well-being, particularly after a troubling performance at President Donald Trump's inaugural ball.
Trace claimed that after his public message, Billy Ray contacted a family member to inform them that he is considering legal action against Trace for encouraging him to seek help. "Dad, I live 30 minutes away from you," Trace wrote. "You could've just come & talked to me like a man."
In a more detailed statement shared on Instagram, Trace suggested that while his father has threatened legal action, he has not yet followed through. "For you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace," he stated. He added, "Pappy is looking down at you with such disappointment, I can assure you. You should be ashamed of yourself. I will always love you but I no longer respect you as a man."
Earlier in the week, Trace had shared a heartfelt message directed at his father, revealing that he had not spoken to him "in a while." He expressed concern for Billy Ray's well-being, stating, "Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years, but you've pushed all of us away."
This public exchange highlights the ongoing tension between Trace and Billy Ray Cyrus, as Trace continues to advocate for his father's health and well-being amidst the family's struggles.
