US climate envoy praises Poland for helping Ukraine
The Polish nation deserves gratitude for supporting Ukrainian refugees, John Kerry, the US president's special envoy for climate, said in Warsaw on Tuesday.
Before a meeting with the Polish prime minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, Kerry thanked Poland for its leadership in helping contain the crisis sparked by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Kerry said he was "grateful for the great leadership exercised by Poland, as well as for the generosity of Poles who have given so much to the refugees."
The envoy's agenda in Warsaw included discussions on the green transformation and nuclear energy.
"I look at these new technologies and here Poland and United States can work together," he said. "We will be able to continue negotiations in order – I hope – also to install nuclear energy in Poland."
