Valorant Game Arrives on Xbox and PlayStation Consoles in Select Regions
Riot Games has officially launched its tactical shooting game, Valorant, on major gaming consoles, including Xbox Series X, Series S, and Sony PlayStation 5. Initially announced as a limited beta version for consoles, the game has now been made available to a broader audience, albeit in select regions.
Currently, Valorant can be played on consoles in regions such as the US, UK, Canada, and Europe. Riot Games has indicated that it will expand availability to more regions shortly. As of now, the game is not listed on the Xbox game store in India or the PlayStation store in that region.
Features and Limitations
- No Cross-Playing
Valorant players on Xbox and PlayStation can play together but will not be able to join games with PC players. Riot Games has stated that this decision is to maintain "competitive integrity."
- Cross-Platform Progression
Cross-platform progression is supported, meaning that players can carry over their in-game progress between PC and consoles. This includes saved game progress, purchased Battle Pass, recruited Agents, and skins.
Future Rollouts
While the game is not yet available worldwide, Riot Games plans to release it in additional regions soon. This phased rollout ensures that the company can address any technical issues and gather user feedback to optimize the gaming experience on consoles.
Players eagerly awaiting Valorant's release on consoles in regions where it is currently unavailable should stay tuned for further updates from Riot Games.
