Various Activities Planned for Festival For Peace 2024 in Quang Tri
The Festival For Peace 2024 is set to open on July 6 in the central province of Quang Tri, featuring an array of special activities designed to attract visitors. Themed “Joining hands in creating a peaceful world,” this inaugural festival aims to enhance the image of Vietnam and transform Quang Tri, once ravaged by war, into a beacon of peace for people worldwide.
The festival will commence on the evening of July 6 at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai national historical relic site in Vinh Linh district. The opening ceremony will feature a unique art performance staged on both the river and land, symbolically connecting the northern and southern banks of the Ben Hai River via the historic Hien Luong bridge, emphasizing the festival's message of unity and peace.
A variety of activities and art programs are scheduled throughout the festival, including:
- Cycling for Peace (June 29-30): This event will be held at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai national historical relic site and the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel special national relic site, promoting peace through physical activity.
- Cultural Culinary Festival (July 12-14): Taking place at the Cua Viet Service-Tourism Area in Gio Linh district, this festival will feature 100 booths showcasing the culinary traditions of Vietnam's three regions and international cuisines.
- Music Exchange Programme "Melodies of Peace" (July 13): Held at Fidel Park in Dong Ha city, this music night will celebrate the works of renowned Vietnamese composer Trinh Cong Son, with performances by famous singers and artists.
- Political Art Programme "The 17th Parallel - A Desire for Peace" (July 19): Organized by Nhan Dan (People) newspaper in coordination with Quang Tri province, this program will explore themes of peace and unity.
- "Wish for Peace" Programme (July 26): This event will take place at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel special national relic site, closing the festival with a reflection on peace and reconciliation.
