What Classes Of Travel Does Air India Offer?
Air India is adding a fourth cabin very soon.
For decades now, Air India has stuck to its traditional three-class configuration of economy, business, and first class on its widebodies, along with just the first two on its narrowbodies. However, change is in the air at the flag carrier, so here's a look at the cabins available on Air India now.
Before diving in, it is important to note that Air India's recent privatization means that its cabin offerings will change in the near future. The carrier has committed to spending $400 million to refurbish the cabins on 27 of its 787 Dreamliners and 13 777s, so expect to see an update in the next 18 months. Meanwhile, passengers will also enjoy some interesting new offerings thanks to 11 leased 777s joining the fleet this year.
First class
Starting from the front of the aircraft, we have first class on Air India, found only on its Boeing 777s (all but two). Most aircraft only feature one row of first right at the front of the aircraft, making it a more intimate flying experience and ensuring personalized service.
