WhatsApp is Working on AI function
WhatsApp is currently developing an advanced generative artificial intelligence (AI) feature aimed at enhancing user experience. This innovation, spotted in beta version 2.24.14.13 for Android, focuses on improving profile photo customization by leveraging Llama 3, the AI assistant created by Meta, integrated across all its applications.
This new functionality will allow users to create and edit profile photos using AI. Users can take a selfie, which Llama 3 will analyze to generate AI images that closely represent their appearance. To create these personalized avatars, users need to type "imagine me" in the Meta AI chatbot and provide a written description of the desired environment. This service is also accessible in other WhatsApp conversations by typing: "@Meta AI imagine me..."
This feature is optional and requires manual activation by the user. Additionally, users will have full control over this tool, including the ability to delete photos at any time.
Users can choose between two models: the Llama 3-70B model, which is the default option offering quick and easy prompts, or the more advanced Llama 3-405B model, which, although slower, is designed for handling more complex queries.
The ability to generate personalized images using Meta AI is expected to be rolled out to the general public in a future update of WhatsApp.
