WhatsApp will soon release a feature to display avatars on chat info screen
The popular messaging app is working on a new feature that will allow users to display their avatars on their chat info screen. This means that when someone views your profile in a chat, they'll be able to see your personalized avatar by swiping on your profile picture. This adds an extra touch of individuality and self-expression to your online presence.
This feature is similar to Instagram's existing feature, which allows users to express themselves more visually and consistently across platforms. WhatsApp is also planning to further enhance the avatar feature in a future update, offering users an even more personalized and customized experience.
In addition to the avatar feature, WhatsApp is also introducing two new Instagram-like features:
- Double-tap reaction feature: This feature allows users to simply double-tap on a message to react with a default heart emoji. This streamlines communication and enables seamless engagement in conversations without breaks or distractions.
- Reshare Status Updates: This feature simplifies the process of sharing status updates where users have been tagged. When someone is mentioned in a status update, they can reshare that update with their contacts, ensuring broader dissemination of relevant content.
These updates aim to enhance the user experience and visual appeal of the platform, making it more engaging and interactive. WhatsApp is constantly working to make its app more user-friendly and personalized, and these new features are a step in that direction.
