Two hundred free internet points have been installed to date by the Prefecture of Esmeraldas, through the Department of Technology and Information Management, in the most remote rural communities of the province.
So far, more than 800,000 devices such as cell phones , tablets, computers, laptops, among others, have connected to the installed Wi-Fi points.
The installation of Wi-Fi in rural areas contributed to children and adolescents in times of pandemic, so that they did not lose the rhythm of classes , which were virtual due to the health emergency caused by COVID-19.
