Pakistan is often labelled to be as an underdeveloped country, but we have the most genius scientists whose work is appreciable. Science plays a vital role in our lives and is found in almost every sphere of our activities such as health, communication and transport. Science generates knowledge, helps improve education, it provides medicine to cure diseases and is related to technology. Science is the greatest endeavour. Similarly, scientists also hold significance in our societies as they help create scientific disciplines.

Abdus Salam
Born in Jhang, Pakistani scientist Abdus Salam won the Nobel Prize for physics. He was a renowned Pakistani scientist. He worked extremely hard towards the development of science in Pakistan. Abdus Salam was known as ‘scientific father’. He made important contributions to the modern theory on unified weak and electromagnetic interaction between elementary particles. His theory of particle physics is still used till today.
Abdul Qadeer Khan
Abdul Qadeer Khan also known as A.Q Khan was a Pakistani metallurgist and a nuclear engineer. He is famously known as The Father of Pakistan’s Nuclear Bomb to bring its design to Pakistan. Abdul Qadeer Khan was one of the leading figures in Pakistan, who happens to have an impressive career in the scientific world. He carried out numerous research including thermal quantum fields and condensed matter physics. He has also served as a policy advisor in Musharraf’s regime, who emphasised gaining the missile capability against India.
Ansar Pervaiz
Ansar Pervaiz is a renowned Pakistani scientist and a nuclear engineer. He is widely known for his accomplishments in establishing the nuclear engineering, nuclear technology institutes in Pakistan. Ansar Pervaiz is also the former chairman of the Board of Governors of International Atomic Energy Agency. He also developed nuclear medicines centres and cancer centres in Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC). In 1998, he was awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz by the prime minister of Pakistan.
Abdullah Sadiq
Born in Peshawar, Abdullah Sadiq is a Pakistani Physicist. He was awarded Sitara-i- Imtiaz in 2002. He was a keen researcher in the fields of laser physics, particle physics, radio physics and optical physics. Abdullah Sadiq is considered as one of the prominent nuclear scientist and physicist of Pakistan. He is the professor of physics and currently Dean of the Department of Physics of the Air University of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
Aban Marker Kabraji
Aban Marker Kabraji is a Pakistani scientist and biologist of the Parsi region. She was also the regional director of the Asia Regional Office of ICUN, International Union for Conservation of Nature but she retired in the early months of the year 2021. She has also been awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan, which is one of the highest civil awards of Pakistan. It was awarded to Aban Marker for her contribution to the cause of sustainable developments, environmental protection and nature conservation.
Qasim Mehdi
Qasim Mehdi was a well known and internationally acclaimed scientist in the molecular biology and genetics. He had also been working on charting direction for the future of biomedical research in Pakistan. Qasim Mehdi is also known for his work on the genetics of human population.
